Watermelon Time Community Picnic

Thanks for coming!

Going to session, reviewing proposals, digging for details, and voting on legislation are extremely important, but so are the events that bring us together as a community.

I'm honored to attend events, write letters, and visit neighbors one-on-one throughout the year.  It's during those moments taht the best ideas are born.  Last summer, while going door-to-door, I began to realize that people needed a reason to come together as a community - free of charge - and get to meet, re-acquaint, and rememeber why it's so important to know their neighbors.

Watermelon Time was born to bring people together.  Here some memories from the 2015 picnic:
Held Saturday, August 29th, at Highland Park, Watermelon Time 2015 brought together over 200 people for free food, games, music, and give-aways.  The weather was incredible and the smiles were magnificent.

I personally visited 1,800 homes in Endwell & Endicott and sent out 2,700 postcard invites to the community.

There was no RSVP, so I had no idea how many people would show up.

The response was overwhelming.  Not only did I get people that I invited - I also got their friends, neighbors, and relatives too!  As a result, the park was packed with people of all ages and walks of life.  They sat at the same tables, shared food, games, and conversation.  The outcome was lots of smiles.  What more can we ask for from life?

Thanks to all the sponsors & volunteers who helped make Watermelon Time a success!

Can't wait to do it again in 2016
