Where's My Bus?

BC Transit provides hundreds of thousands of rides to tens of thousands of people.  It carries commuters to work, students to schools, shoppers to stores, and patients to doctors & therapists.  It's a vital link in our local economy.

And now BC Transit riders have access to a free, mobile app, called WHERE'S MY BUS, that provides real-time location updates on the buses they ride.

It took nearly three years of IT and administrative preparation, but I'm very happy to announce that we've finally got the kind of real-time transit tracking that you find in other large cities.

The application was created by DoubleMap and is already making a difference.  Evidence suggests that riders are more confident in the system when they know exactly where their bus is.  Below is a screenshot of the app in-action.  Download it and try it for yourself.

Next: mobile credit card purchases of transit tickets.
