Fiscal Transparency

Broome County's annual budget is nearly $360 million. We have over 1,900 employees and 62 departments. It is imperative that the public be given clear, concise, and periodic financial updates. That's why I'm happy to have helped push for a financial transparency bill that brings that information to residents every three months.

Public Hearings

When I came into office, most public hearings were scheduled for the middle of the day and public attendance was very weak. We passed a local law to move it back to 5:00, thus making it easier for working people to attend, and the change has been positive. Read more...
