I’m humbled by the trust you’ve placed in me as your elected representative since 2014.


I take my role as an independent, non-partisan representative very seriously. 

When tough issues appear, I always consult both sides of the aisle, looking for common ground and the best possible solution for our community at large.  


The two major parties have made a sham of our Democracy and I don’t intend to play their game. 

I’ve never been a blind follower.  I ask too many questions, search out every angle, and care too much about “regular” people.  I walk my district, stop at doors, and ask people what’s important to them.  While the specific answers vary widely, the desire to be heard and understood is universal.  


I created this website so that you can connect with me, find out who I am, and read about the projects I'm working on.

Based on the behavior of our federal officials, and those running for political office at that level, you’d think that democrats & republicans can’t possibly get along.  However, that’s just not true!

Community is the delightful feeling you have when you're part of something bigger than yourself.

Community is what makes people LOVE the place they live or the family they're part of.

Politics often destroys community through squabbling and divisive policies. 

I do not squabble nor do I believe in passing divisive policies.

I'm a member of our legislature to build community and enhance life in Broome County and beyond.

Fiscal Responsibility
As the owner of two small businesses, I'm charged with leading several groups of dedicated professionals whose jobs & careers depend on my fiscal decisions.  Therefore, I analyze, test, and track every penny.

Fiscal responsibility is more than a catch-phrase, it's a way of life for me.

As your representative, I pledge that I'm bringing that same scrutiny to Broome County's finances each & every day.

Hard Work
I hate to toot my own horn, but I'm a worker.

While I manage several organizations, I truly prefer to get my hands dirty.  This propensity gives me insight into the work that my organizations do and allows me to craft better policies.

Since coming to the Broome County Legislature, I've rolled up my sleeves and gotten into the minutiae of government. It helps me to come down out of the ivory tower of legislation and see what our citizens and employees are actually dealing with on a day-to-day basis.
