Increasing the number of public committee meetings regarding important issues in very important. It's all too easy to see an issue from only one side, however, nearly every issue I've come in contact with at the legislature has had more to it than meets the eye.
When I came into office, most public hearings were scheduled for the middle of the day and public attendance was very weak. We passed a local law to move it back to 5:00, thus making it easier for working people to attend, and the change has been positive. Read more...
