While "government efficiency" may seem like an oxymoron to some people, the truth is that while you may or may not agree with every government mandate, the offices and infrastructure responsible for implementing government policies should be run with minimal waste.

Digital Purchasing

When I came to office, Broome County had no systematic way for contractors to electronically view proposed government purchases or an electronic method for vendors to submit bids.  Everything was paper!  That had to stop.

BC Transit Efficiency

When I came into office, BC Transit routes had not been overhauled in nearly 20 years, nor did it have a modern mobile-phone app for riders to use.

Neither of these were acceptable.  So, BC Transit redesigned its routes to increase service on popular lines and reduce costs.  Meanwhile, BC Transit is currently  working on a much-needed Where's My Bus app that should make riding easier and more popular.

As a small business owner and the chair of the Personnel Committee, it's clear to me that our personnel office must provide the best possible service to both current & prospective employees, otherwise we will not retain or attract the talent we need to run an efficient & effective government.
